The Pottery Studio @ CERA is a fully-equipped, non-profit facility for amateur potters.
The next Membership Meeting will be
Membership is open to employees of Lockheed Martin and affiliate corporations and their families. Guest memberships are available with sponsorship by anyone eligible for employee membership. All members must be 16 years of age or older.
Our operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Members must sign in and retrieve and return keys in the gym lobby.
We are located in a small building overlooking the river in what used to be the Lockheed Martin Recreation Association property. This property has been sold, and we are currently in the process of moving to a new location in the gymnasium, located to the right as you enter the property. This move should be complete in the next few months. New members are welcome to join, as we anticipate little or no down-time.
No experience is needed. Classes for beginning and intermediate potters are taught on-site, and include lessons in throwing on the wheel, hand-building, sculpture and alternative firing. New members are required to take one block of classes, mostly to learn the Studio rules and procedures.
The Pottery Studio hosts one or two workshops per year, and also puts on Pottery in the Park each October, featuring hand-made art (not just pottery). Booths are open to non-members, and at a reduced fee for members. Members are encouraged to come out and pitch in for a few hours, and have a great time.
Prospective members are welcome to come by the studio for a tour. Members are on site most weekday mornings, and all day Saturday, or you can contact us to set up an appointment.
